Today we are chatting all about building your business in your local community! Promoting your business locally is often something that is overlooked in the strategy of business growth. In my first year of business in wedding rentals, nearly all of my clients came from vendor referrals and local connections! Today I am sharing with you my 3 tips for building your business locally.
1) Network
I know this seems pretty basic and straightforward, but have you actually gone out of your way to network with other small business owners in your community? Start to reach out and form connections with other business owners in your industry. It is so valuable to not only have friends in the same line of business as you, but to also have "co-workers" to refer business to you and bounce questions off of!
2) Markets
Start researching small business markets in your area! Take to Facebook and see if you can come across any events for handmade markets you can take part of. Some towns have seasonal markets every single year, so start to research and see what the steps are to get into a market! These are great for meeting customers in person, and also meeting other small business owners!
3) Pop-ups
Reach out to some local businesses and establishments in your area to see if you can collaborate on a pop up shop! Many boutiques and restaurants love pop up shops because you will be bringing business into their store! Pop-up shops have been very successful for my business, and they are great for spreading the word about your business!
